Erica the Picky Chicken, Hoot the Tooting Newt, Tracy the Pacy Plaice
300010048Clickety Books create books and resources designed to support the development of children's speech and listening skills at school, in therapy or at home.
They are intended for all children who enjoy sharing books and rhymes and are designed to help develop their speech sound awareness skills. Being able to 'hear' sounds clearly and recognise them in words is important both for clear speech and for sounding out words when first learning to read and spell.
Erica the Picky Chicken likes everything to be spic and span. Erica is part of the 'C/K' series and her rhyme is 'ICK'. Hoot the Tooting Newt loves to play his golden flute and Tracy the Pacy Plaice loves to race and play chase (but is always losing her glasses). Tracy is part of the 'S' series and her rhyme is 'ACE'.
Erica the Picky Chicken is narrated by Rik Mayall and is simply great as an addition to your system of phonicks* (*sorry).
Hot questions are a hoot with our Tooting Newt Boardstory narrated by the fabulous Catherine Tate! Hoot also won the Practical Preschool Award in 2013!
Finally, put the ACE through its paces with Tracy the Pacy Plaice and Ronni Ancona special narration.
Tracy also won the Primary Teacher Gold Award in 2013. Here is what the testers had to say about her: "a good range of vocab in the text and the books are a good introduction to rhyme and poetry."
Recommended book band 4: blue.
